Discover and Embrace your True Self
Are you energized, enthusiastic and motivated to create the life you have dreamed of?
Are you someone who thrives on inner development, setting and achieving goals, challenging yourself and personal growth?
Have you “done the work” but still find yourself longing for a deeper, more fulfilling life?
You deserve to feel confident, empowered, and inspired. If you’ve ever thought, “what’s stopping me” or felt like you can’t make progress, working together we can uncover the obstacles blocking you from the life you long for.
Together we can identify how and where the past is interfering with the present; how your patterns, behaviors, and narratives are preventing the change that you long for. We can process, heal and transform these obstacles so you can find balance, peace, and courage even during stressful and challenging situations.
I offer a unique perspective, process and resources to help you improve your mental health and well being. Rather than focusing solely on what isn’t working, we will identify positive aspects and strengths and create steps toward your flourishing and fullfilling life.
Together we will create a plan that uniquely fits your needs and personality. My therapeutic resources we will draw on include:
- EMDR Therapy
- Intensive Therapy
- Psychedelic Assisted Therapy
- Trauma/TRE (tension, stress, and trauma release)
- Grief Counseling
- Couples Counseling grounded in Gottman Marriage Therapy, Somatica, and The Wheel of Consent
- Mindfulness-based somatic approaches including breathwork and meditation
- Befriending your nervous system to discover how you can experience life, yes, even the stress filled life, with a sense of calm and balance.
About Amy Hertle
I have been part of the mental health world for over 30 years. In addition to my expansive clinical training and experience I bring a holistic approach to provide a person-centered focus. I believe every individual holds their own wisdom within, and from this place healing and empowerment is possible.
Anything is possible when we continue to dream, explore, learn and grow. If we hold the attitude “I can and I will,” we can transform any area of our lives. I experienced this when I put skis on my feet for the first time at 51 and have completed the 50-kilometer Birkie race each year following.

Amy Hertle Counseling Services
My therapy and counseling services release old patterns of thoughts, behaviors, and trauma so you can start living with comfort, confidence and courage.
Do you want to create a life with purpose and passion but experience obstacles in making progress?
Working together we can uncover how and where the past is still disrupting your life, heal, and move beyond these barriers. No longer overwhelmed by your past you can discover your authentic self, envision a new future, and create action steps to the life you desire.
Intensive Therapy
Unhurried and uninterrupted time to deeply process grief, trauma and blocking beliefs. Create change and heal faster than traditional hourly sessions.
Intensive Therapy is a powerful way to accelerate the healing that you would experience in a typical course of therapy by providing longer, more frequent sessions over a shorter time span.
Psychedelic-assisted Therapy
MDMA- and Psilocybin-assisted therapies are not yet available in Minnesota, but Ketamine is legal and available today.
Ketamine-assisted therapy is widely considered one of the most promising tools for treatment-resistant mental health issues. It might be an option if you have already tried different types of therapy but haven’t been able to heal from your struggles or trauma.
More than symptom management, Ketamine combined with therapy can maximize healing by getting to the root of your challenges, helping work through the emotions and thoughts that arise during your experience and enabling holistic healing.
EMDR Therapy
EMDR allows the brain to reprocess memories trapped in the mind and body, freeing disturbing images, body sensations, debilitating emotions, restrictive beliefs, and trauma so they are no longer intrusive in healthy daily living. This technique treats anxiety, depression, stress, eating disorders, addiction, and complicated grief.
Trauma-aware Therapy
Symptoms of trauma can show up as intrusive memories, changes in behaviors, mood, and physical and emotional well-being. Instead of managing the sensations, we will get to the root of the trauma so you can move past it and heal.
TRE® (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises)
TRE® involves moving through a set of seven exercises designed to activate a natural shaking or “tremoring” reflex deep in the brain. This release can support the nervous system to restore and rebalance, which can support the healing of symptoms such as pain, insomnia, stress, and autoimmune disease.
Grief Counseling
Grief may be caused by any of the countless losses a person can experience in a lifetime, not just death. It can include the loss of a pet, retirement, moving, loss of routine, expectations, environmental/social changes, or financial or health issues among others. With the Grief Recovery Method, over 8 weeks, you will find the ability to stop avoiding, and remember your past without pain, desperation, or anger.
Couples Counseling
Grounded in Gottman Marriage Therapy, Somatica and The Wheel of Consent
Are you longing to experience a lasting, loving, and passionate relationship based on genuine friendship and trust? Relationship counseling can guide you with tools, insights, and healing to discover, create and experience the relationship you dream of.
Uncertain of the future of your relationship? Discernment counseling might be the focus to help you and your partner decide on your direction and next steps.
Mindfulness-based somatic approaches
Uncovering how your unique nervous system has been impacted by adverse and traumatic life experiences, we can use the framework of Polyvagal Theory to bring a compassionate understanding to why you “act and feel the way you do.” Along with this understanding, mindfulness-based somatic approaches, including meditation, breathwork and body mapping, will support your ability to experience life from a balanced, calm state, even when faced with the stress of life.
Complimentary Call
The first step in working together is to set up a complimentary call with me so I can learn more about your goals and desired transformation.
